Norma Thomson Hallmark

March 30, 1925 — December 19, 2020

Norma Thomson Hallmark passed away peacefully at her Taylorsville, Utah home on December 19, 2020 at the age of 95. She was born in Magrath, Alberta, Canada on March 30, 1925 to George and Malissa (Winterton) Thomson and was the youngest of 6 children.

She married John (Jack) Hallmark on June 8, 1949 in the Cardston, Alberta Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After they were married, they moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon where they lived until 1978 when they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. Norma served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Central States Mission from November, 1946 – May, 1948. Norma loved to quilt and sew and always had multiple projects going on whether it was her own or helping others with theirs. She was always looking to be of service to others and often used her sewing and quilting skills to let others know she loved them and was thinking of them. She will be remembered for her many qualities including a hard-working spirit, a quick wit, a beautiful smile, a determination to always look for the bright side of things, her love for her family, and her love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her children Joan & Bryon Allred, Judy Hallmark, Dave & Suse Hallmark, John Hallmark, Jim & Shauna Hallmark, Rick & Tina Hallmark, Linda Snow; 26 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and her sister Marie Bevans. She was preceded in death by her husband John (Jack) Ivy Hallmark; her parents George & Malissa (Winterton) Thomson; siblings Earl, Vella, Rulon, & Mervin.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, December 28, 2020. For those wishing to Participate, the service will be live streamed at https://vimeo.com/494204999.  A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. Interment, Granite Cemetery, Sandy, Utah.
