Nadine S. Pugh

May 8, 1959 — November 11, 2021

Nadine Pugh, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on November 11, 2021. Nadine was born in Moab, Utah on May 8, 1959, to Joan (Bill) Romney and DeVere (Vicki) Southam.  Early in her life, Nadine and her family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she raised her two children, Nicole and Scott, married husband, Kenneth (Ken) Pugh, and resided for the remainder of her life.  Nadine was a strong, dedicated, and independent woman who valued her family above all else; she worked hard to provide for her children and returned to school where she not only earned a bachelor’s degree, but also a Master’s of Business Administration.

Nadine and Ken met later in life, and their marriage was filled with fun, humor, and profound love.

Nadine was often sought out by others for her kindness and wisdom without judgement.  Her honest and loving demeanor made her someone you could trust to provide guidance or just offer a listening ear. Nadine was happiest when she was surrounded by friends and family, sharing stories and spending time with the kids.

The adventurous spirit that Nadine possessed brought joy to everyone around her.  She loved riding motorcycles, traveling, and especially camping - Arches National Park was her favorite place to visit.  Nadine was an avid reader and will be remembered as always having book recommendations for others, as well as her own book nearby.  Later in life Nadine picked up quilting and became a skilled quilter making beautiful, one-of-a-kind quilts for family and friends.

Nadine brought joy wherever she went, and her kindness, wisdom, humor, and lighthearted spirit will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Pugh, Salt Lake City, UT; children Nicole (Steven) Ward, Scott (Ashley) Walker, David (Katie) Pugh, Steven (Allison) Pugh, Andrea (Brian) Fitzgerald; grandchildren Sam Pugh, Max Pugh, Garrett Fitzgerald, Harrison Pugh, Wyatt Fitzgerald, Hadley Pugh, and ‘Baby Ward’ on the way; sister, Kay (Tom) Hopkins; nieces; and nephews, Ronda (Kevin) Shaw, Jennie (Hailey) Waddell, Connie (Daniel) Torres, Jamey (Nikki) Hopkins, Tommy Hopkins; and numerous great-nephews; and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joan L. (Bill) Romney and DeVere (Vicki) Southam; sister Valerie Waddell; and grandson Logan M. Ward.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 20, 2021, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.  A reception will follow at 1525 East Village Three Road, Salt Lake City, Utah 84121.
