Marilyn Joan Johnson

March 19, 1936 — November 18, 2020

Marilyn Joan Johnson, 84, of West Valley City, UT, passed away peacefully on the morning of November 18th, after a long and valiant battle with Ovarian cancer.

Marilyn was born on March 19, 1936 to Leo and Leila Schoenauer in Tulare, CA.  After graduating from Grant Union High School, in Sacramento, CA in 1954, Marilyn married and became a full time Mother, raising 9 children, Pamy, Bill, Mark, Frank, Joe, Mickey, Carla, Judy and Cooper. 

In 1962, Marilyn learned about and accepted the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, was baptized and began her new life as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 

Marilyn had a love for beautiful music throughout her life and enjoyed singing the hymns as a Soprano in the Church choir.  She had a talent for writing beautiful poetry and had a love for all good food. 

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Eleanor Payne.  She is survived by her husband, Doyle L. Johnson; her 9 children; 25 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her brother Dale Schoenauer.

Her graveside memorial service will be held at Valley View Memorial Park at 4400 West 4100 South, West Valley City, UT on November 21, 2020 at 3:00 pm.  Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
