Lorna Janet Jensen Durfee

On the evening of June 25th, Dad’s Bride, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother quietly stepped through the veil to join her heavenly family.

Born August 26, 1937 in Salt Lake City Utah to Clarence Eldon Jensen and Olivette Bowles. Lorna was one of 7 children, 5 brothers and 1 sister. She grew up in the Sugarhouse area and graduated from South High School in 1956. On June 5, 1957 she married the love of her life, G. Reed Durfee, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple located in Salt Lake City. Reed and Lorna spent most of their married life living in the Salt Lake area before moving to Tooele and for the last 2+ years in Rathdrum Idaho. Her family and church brought her joy throughout her life. She loved nothing more than being with her family. She served in both the Relief Society and Primary organizations.

Lorna was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; and one son, Mike Reed Durfee. She is survived by her husband, Reed Durfee; children, Vickie and Garry Damron, Marianne and Darwin Barker, Robin Washburn, Dennis and Krystyn Durfee and Lance and Melanie Durfee; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

There will be a viewing on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at McDougal Funeral Home on 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 12:00 noon, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel located at 2850 W 3835 S, West Valley City, Utah. There will be a viewing prior to the funeral services from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Internment will be at Valley View Memorial Park in West Valley.
