Kenneth Wynne Foster

August 10, 1932 — March 2, 2021

Kenneth

Kenneth Wynne Foster, 88, died on March 2, 2021 in Kearns, Utah after battling various illnesses including recently-diagnosed cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife and children as he spent his last days at home where he wanted to be.

He was born August 10, 1932 in Copperton, Utah to Kenneth Earl Foster and Margaret Berneice Winn Foster. Kenneth was the oldest of two children. He and his sister Sharlene have stayed close throughout his whole life. As a youth he was involved with scouts and sports. He attended Bingham High School.

Kenneth was sealed for time and eternity to Karen E. Cooley on March 6, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. In 1956 they bought a house in Kearns, Utah, where they raised their family. He worked at Kennecott Copper for 35 years, and also worked at a number of other jobs. He was a hard worker and was never above doing what he needed to do to support his family. He studied finance at SLCC and University of Utah. Kenneth loved camping, hunting, and fishing, especially hunting with his own father and sons. He was a great handyman. He loved to build things and worked on several projects in his home and for family members.

Kenneth loved to sing and had a great tenor voice. His voice would often sound above others at church and was a joy to hear. Most of all Kenneth loved his family and the gospel of Jesus Christ. He served in many callings in the church, including being in two bishoprics as a counselor, serving a stake mission, several teaching positions, High Council, and Regional Secretary to Russell M. Nelson when serving as a Regional Representative. Kenneth and Karen served several years together in the Jordan River Temple baptistry. They loved to attend the temple together. Kenneth loves the Savior and lived his life with integrity and honesty. He was a true disciple of Christ, serving others, diligent in his home teaching, and caring for those around him. His family was his jewel. He loved having his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren around. Family members, including extended family members, comment that they always knew they were loved by Kenneth. He had a good heart, a good sense of humor, and wisdom. He has given countless blessings of comfort over the years. He had various health problems as he aged, but was positive and faithful through it all. He is truly the salt of the earth and will be greatly missed.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Karen; his children: Karen C. LeCheminant, Mary C. (Kevin) Fuller, Kenneth R. (Jodi) Foster, Andrea L. (Dan) Beyerlein, Sheldon W. (Deborah) Foster; sister Sharlene (Grant) Pullan; 29 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter Debra Sue (Dan) Greenland.
