Keith Earl Bingham

August 2, 1930 — July 16, 2021

Our beloved Keith Earl Bingham , 90, father, husband, brother, grandfather, educator, missionary and Man of God, passed away July 16, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by  his beloved wife Lynda; daughters; sister and many loved friends and family.

He was born August 2, 1930 in Maricopa, CA to Earl & Teresa Bingham.

Preceded in death by parents; wife Anneli V. Bingham (deceased); children LeeAnne, Maria and Barry Earl.

Survived by wife Lynda K. Dodge Bingham; children, Tina M. Breck; step-children Darin O. Dodge (Mitzi), Gary Dodge, Denise Dodge (Anthony Adolf); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Keith served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Finland. Served in the United States Air Force from 1950-1953. He enjoyed serving in the Boy Scouts of America as well as many church and community service leadership roles. He was passionate about serving  others, teaching self reliance, responsibility and being prepared . He served with the Red Cross, disaster training and Ham Radio.

He was a Professor at SLCC/Trade Tech. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Utah State University and the University of Utah.  Keith served his community Seniors at Kearns Senior Center volunteering to teach the Seniors how to use the computer and social media to connect.

He served as a counselor and friend, leading a 12 step addiction and recovery therapy program. He was committed and dedicated as the day is long. He was a tour guide at Red Butte Gardens, leading Youth groups and educating children. As  he was giving his tours and telling the children about each plant and beautiful species of botanicals, he would make the children laugh asking them ”do you know what that flower is?”. He would point to the yellow flower and say “This is a yellow near trail ya”. He made us all giggle with joy . He always found joy and beauty in the simple pleasures of the earth and taught us to look for the good in times of trials and tribulations.

In times of stress he taught us to look for and focus on the lesson, how we may grow to be better humans from the experience. He kept a journal until just 3 days prior to his passing, faithfully expressing a  happy, positive outlook. A scripture or one of the 12 steps to meditate and practice;  a check mark next to each of  his goals for the day.

Keith Earl Bingham taught by his loving and compassionate example to try to live each day to the fullest. He lived his life in serving Christ our Lord and Savior. A faithful,  honorable and dedicated man of God.

We will all remember and deeply miss Keith. He leaves a legacy of influence on the world and continues long beyond his earthly life.
