Kathryn A. Billings

Kathryn Ashcraft Billings, daughter of Vernia Gleason and Verna Catharine Bingham Ashcraft, was born January 12, 1921, in the same home in which her mother was born and which her grandfather built on Wilson Lane, Ogden, Utah. She died May 23, 2019 in Taylorsville, Utah.

Kathryn attended Moody School and Teton School and graduated from Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho. After graduating from Ricks College, Rexburg, Idaho, she served in the Southern California Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Kathryn taught school in Teton, Osgood, and Lincoln, Idaho. She then completed another degree from Brigham Young University prior to teaching in Delta and Scipio, Utah.

Kathryn married Cecil E. Billings (of Delta, Utah) on August 15, 1950. She raised her family in El Paso, Texas, where she lived for 57 years. Cecil died February 18, 2004. Kathryn moved to Taylorsville, Utah in 2011.

She has six children and their spouses, Carol (Wayne Brady), David (Claire), Jean (Richard Morris), Dawn, Mark (Sharon) and Rosann (Robert Petersen); 26 grandchildren; 34 + 2 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters Leara (deceased), Verla Mae (deceased), Glenn & Lalamae, Don (deceased), Joyce, Grant & Dorothy Boyd (deceased) and Helen (deceased), Lucille and Ervin Higley, Reed and Anna Lee, Lawrence and Nancy (deceased).

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8th, 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2030 West Chateau Avenue, Taylorsville, Utah. The family will receive friends at a viewing Friday evening, June7th, from 6-8:00 p.m., at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road, as well as from 10-10:45 a.m. on June 8th, prior to the services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
