Jason R Almond

May 23, 1968 — January 19, 2022

Jason R Almond, one of the brightest souls on Earth, returned to his Heavenly Father while driving home from St. George, Utah on January 19, 2022. Jason was joyously welcomed home with open arms by his father Ronnie and beloved brother Troy.

Jason was born May 23, 1968 to Ronnie and LaRae Almond and welcomed to a loving family. He was the middle child of seven siblings whom he loved dearly. Jason was blessed to be raised by a village, with great friends and families all around him. His childhood was full of fun adventures, creating havoc with his brothers, riding bikes, boxing, playing from dawn to dusk. It was not uncommon to hear a neighbor yell out “It's time to go to bed Almonds.” Jason was an exceptional athlete who played just about every sport. His favorites were baseball, basketball, and volleyball. He loved the outdoors, hunting, hiking, and exploring Utah. One of his fondest memories was an annual deer hunt with his father and brothers on “Almond Mountain.”

Jason attended Taylorsville High school where he excelled at basketball and once had the crowd chanting “blue shoes, blue shoes”, for him. He was tall, dark, handsome, and adored by all the girls. He was very charismatic and made friends with everyone he met. Jason attended Utah State University where he was a walk on for the basketball team. He was also a phenomenal sand volleyball player and to maintain his tan you would find Jason every Saturday afternoon playing at Liberty Park. He had a strong faith in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a successful mission to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. After returning home he continued his education and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Business.

Jason’s career was in sales and real estate which he loved. He often traveled to New York City and D.C. and enjoyed the big city lifestyle. For the last ten years, he worked side by side with his father and older brother Mark, in the family business, Almond Masonry. Jason always displayed a hard work ethic and was an example to all while still making jokes and having fun on the job.

Jason was fortunate to have many friends near and far. But it was his family that meant the most to him. He had a notable bond with each sibling and loved being the fun “Uncle J” to all his nieces and nephews. Jason had a unique way of making everyone feel loved and special. Jason married Kimberley Bradley and became a bonus dad to Karissa. Soon after, they were blessed with a daughter, Breanna. She was the highlight and priority of his life. He was her number 1 fan and loved to talk about her many accomplishments. Jason and Breanna created many fun memories together, they have a very special bond that will never be broken. He later in life married Jennifer Hood and gained a bonus son, JD. Jason was a wonderful father who absolutely loved being a dad.

Jason is survived by his mother, LaRae; his daughter Breanna; siblings, Mark, Carrie Mumford (Bill), Lisa, Jeff (Andrea), Nichole Summerhays (Josh), and Adam Almond-Kraft (Michael). He will be on our minds until we meet again.
