Harry Winn Allred

July 15, 1933 — July 7, 2021

Harry Winn Allred left his mortal journey on the morning of July 7, 2021. He was born on July 15, 1933, in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to William Parley Allred and Zelma Winn. Dad’s father passed away when he was just a small boy. He was lovingly raised by Don and Veda Jensen. He married his sweetheart Anona Stewart in 1951 in Mt. Pleasant Utah. They were later sealed for time and all eternity along with their three children in the Salt Lake Temple. Anona passed away in 1999, Dad loved and missed so much. These past few months his longing for her was expressed often.

Dad was a Marine Veteran of the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He loved serving his country. That love of this country also led him to serve in the Utah Air National Guard retiring there after 21 years. He had many opportunities to serve not only our country, but the country of Bolivia. This was a humanitarian mission. He was commissioned to lead a group of military personnel in the rebuilding of the Hospital there. He loved the Bolivian People and was grateful to serve them. He was honored by President Ronald Reagan for his service.

He was a Master Electrician by trade and was one of the best! Many older homes around the Salt Lake Valley, including the older condominium’s behind Hogle Zoo were touched by his Mastery. He worked for Granite School District well over 20 years, retiring as the Electrical Shop Foreman. He loved those that he worked with over the years.

He served in various callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. One of his favorite callings was as a missionary for the Genealogy Library on the British Floors. He loved that dearly and made so many wonderful friends there. He also loved Genealogy and the work he has done for his ancestors is being felt eternally. Angels are rejoicing for all he has done for them.

Harry is survived by children Ken Allred (Cheryl), Tami Allen (Phil); granddaughter Tina Sansing (Jason); grandson’s Eric Allred (Karen), Craig Allred (Corinne); granddaughter in law Tashina Allred (Josh); great-grandchildren, Alex and Samuel Sansing, Badger and Clover Allred, Tanner, Reed and Rawley Allred, Sam, Ada, and Jack Allred; great-great-granddaughter Jordann Sansing; sisters Ann Smith, Larae Anderson; brother Redge Jensen (Pat); and many nieces and nephews who love Uncle Harry. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Allred, and Zelma Allred Jensen (Lionel);  Don and Veda Jensen; wife Anona; his son Randy Allred; grandson Richard Allred; his siblings, Phyllis Larsen, and Beth Bailey.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff and owners of Beehive Home of Riverton. They provided such loving care of dad this past year and a half. They became a part of our family! We also want to thank Canyon Home Health and Hospice for their tender, loving care of him as well. We could not have gone through this journey without them all.

We also express our love of our Savior Jesus Christ. It is because of him that we know we will see our loved ones again!
