Glen B. Hatch

With much sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather on May 30, 2021, Taylorsville, UT. Born November 21, 1934, Koosharem UT to Andrew Vernaldo and Elnora Hatch. Graduated from Richfield High School class of 1953. Glen was a Veteran of the United States Army. He attended Utah State University. Glen served as Chief Cadastral Surveyor for the Bureau of Land Management, retiring after 33 years, and spent the remainder of his career as a surveyor in the private sector. Married Mary Jane Jackman of Richfield, UT February 22, 1959 and was the father of six children.

Glen is survived by his wife, Jane; daughters Sana (Brad) Strong, Connie (Kent) Frazier; sons Barry (Tracey) Hatch and Scott (Bobby) Hatch; sisters Vivian Mitchell and Leila Oldroyd; as well as 13 grandchildren; and 9 (soon to be 10) great-grandchildren, Glen was preceded in death by a son, Michael; and daughter, Camille; sister, Vernelda Washburn; and brothers Conrad Hatch and Delray Hatch.

Glen loved being outdoors, whether working as a land surveyor, hunting, camping, or taking care of the yard. If he was outside, he was happy. Glen was a quiet, unassuming man preferring to listen to others, but he was always ready with a quick one-liner to make people laugh. He was a wonderful neighbor always quick to help out where he could and quietly serving others.

Per Glen’s wishes, a private, family graveside service was held at 1:00pm on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Valley View Memorial in West Valley City, UT.
