David Samuel Vigil

May 13, 1950 — May 21, 2019

David (Sam) Vigil, brother, father, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend to all, passed peacefully on May 21, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 13, 1950 to Demecio Vigil and Carolina Romero. He was married to Patricia Heineman from Kearns, Utah, although later divorced, they had 4 children together.

Sam was employed by Kennecott and later owned and retired from his business Stone Garden,
where many of his friends and family worked at one point in time. In 1993, he was also awarded Manufacturer Firm of the year by the Minority Business Development Center.

Sam was such a great and creative artist, entrepreneur and just a fun guy to be around. He loved working in his yard and it showed.

He always loved to dance, and dragging his best friend, who is also his sister, Marcia all over town. He was such a kid at heart, he loved fun events with his grandchildren and kids from the neighborhood, with countless water fights, egg hunts and playing in the snow with the kids.

He is survived by his long life partner of 15 years Linda Sanchez; children, Sam Vigil Jr., (Lennette), Adrian Vigil (Jerry, Elias); six grandchildren, Adelia (Ryan), Marciano, Cruz, Dominic, Savanah and Serena; one great-grandchild, Madelyn; brothers and sisters, Marcia, Elsie, Orlando (Kathy), Mary Ann, Marlo (Olis), Joe (Carolyn), Leroy, Anthony (Chris), Estrella; many many nieces and nephews.

Also known as Papa Sam to Stormie Sanchez-Ulibarri (Joshua, Anikin & Isobel), Tammie Sanchez, Shawnie Sanchez-Raddon (Dane, London, James, Easton & Estrella), Ashlie Pollock (Matt & Lucas).

He is preceded in death by his father; and mother; 2 brothers Demecio (Jr), Emerson (Squeaky); 2 sisters Maria (Lola) Rosa; 2 beautiful daughters, Richelle and Heather.

There are no words that can express the pain we feel and the nightmare this has been. There is only one place our loved one could find his true happiness and that's with his two little girls and his mom in heaven. We love you so much dad and we always will.
