Carl Albert Hensley Jr.

October 4, 1957 — January 6, 2020

Our loving husband, father, “Poppy”, brother, uncle and friend, Carl Albert Hensley Jr, (62) returned to his Heavenly Father on January 6, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Clinton, Indiana on October 4, 1957 to Carl A. and Jannetje Hensley. He married Lorrie, the love of his life, on January 23, 1988 in Salt Lake and was blessed with three sons, Tyler, Nicholaus and Chase.

Albert had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles, golfing with his sons, grandson and friends, traveling and watching football (Go Utes and Colts). He cherished the time he was able to spend with his family and pets. He always had an extra twinkle in his eye when he was with the grandchildren. He had a fun sense of humor all his life, even until he passed away. He was genuine and always tried to make time for everyone. Albert worked in the trucking industry for most of his career and enjoyed volunteering at IMC Hospital and St. Marks Hospital the last few years of his life. He will be very missed, but in our thoughts forever.

Albert is survived by his wife Lorrie; sons Tyler (Shellece), Nicholaus (Sarah) and Chase; five

grandbabies, Hayden (9), Lincoln (6), Emmett (4), Braxton (4) and Liam (6 months); siblings, Hank (Paula), Albert (Janet), Rosetta (Leonard), Barend (Pontip), Naomi (Jim), Iona (Steven), Merrill, Janneke (Kevin) and Enoch; father and mother-in-law Jerry and Cathy Houston; many aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; nephews; and friends. Preceded in death by both parents; brother Gerry; and sisters Juanita and Jannetje.

The family also wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the University of Utah hospital for the high level of care, compassion and respect he received.

Services will be held on Friday, January 10th beginning at 11:00 am at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road in Taylorsville with a visitation Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm and again Friday 10:00-10:45 am prior to the services.
