Bonnie Perry

May 28, 1930 — September 12, 2021

Bonnie Irene Mathews Perry, age 91, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2021, in Riverton, Utah.

Born in Beaver, Utah on May 28, 1930, to Melvin and Thressa Mathews, she spent her childhood attending schools in Beaver, and then in Cedar City, Utah. It was there Bonnie met Ward Perry. The two were married on December 3, 1948, and later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Ward and Bonnie raised their six daughters just off 5600 West in Hunter (West Valley), Utah which at the time was in the Cyprus High School boundaries.  Bonnie spent over 30 years working as a main office secretary at the high school and there met some of her dearest friends. She influenced many teachers and students for good while working at Cyprus and will always be a Pirate at heart. Her family meant everything to her, and she was very proud of their many accomplishments. Bonnie loved supporting her children’s and grandchildren’s various activities and was an avid Utah Jazz and BYU fan. She also enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors.

Survived by her six girls: Lynn (Dave) Chazen, Gail (Lowell) Mikolash, JoAnne Walker, Debbie (Chris) Andrus, Kathryn (Ray) Etcheverry, Janet Perry; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters Vie and Berneice; and four brothers Don, John, Clark, and Howard.

A family graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2021, at the Cedar City Cemetery.
