Aaron Floyd Jolley, 95, peacefully passed away at his daughter’s home in Spanish Fork, Utah, on March 11, 2021, exactly 14 years to the day after the death of his sweetheart Dorothy. Aaron recently returned to his native Utah after ten happy and loving years living in Virginia with another daughter and her family.

Aaron was the eighth of nine children born to Jesse Levi Jolley and Mary Leona Johnson Jolley in Tropic, Utah, on January 11, 1926. He married Dorothy LaVon Salisbury in the Salt Lake Temple on December 18, 1950. They are parents of one son – Bradford Aaron (Carrie Reynolds) and six daughters – Julia Ann (Brent Davis), Cheryl Lynn (Clark Thiriot), Conna Lee (Robert Burdette), Ruth Marie (Dane Leavitt), Tamera Jo (Craig Ferrin), Kimberly Sue Davis. Their posterity includes 44 grandchildren and 98 great-grandchildren.

Aaron was a World War II veteran, serving in the Navy at Port Chicago, California, from 1944-46. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northern States Mission from 1948-50. He had a strong testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and loved and served the Lord in many capacities. After his retirement as a mortician and funeral director, he and Dorothy served a mission in the England Leeds Mission from Oct 1991-May 1993. From 2009-2016, Aaron served in the sealing rooms of the Provo, St George and Washington DC Temples.

Aaron loved his childhood at the base of Bryce Canyon. He was a congenial soul and loved to help and give to others. He was an avid handyman and gave his expertise and services whenever he could. He especially loved children and was “Grandpa Tooth-fairy” to his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other little ones.
