Wendy Armstrong

August 7, 1973 — July 7, 2011

Wendy Armstrong 1973 ~ 2011 Our beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, Wendy Armstrong, 37, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 7, 2011 due to complications from Type I Diabetes. Wendy was born on August 7, 1973 in Salt Lake City. She graduated from Taylorsville High School and earned her RN degree at SLCC and her B.S. degree from the University of Utah. Wendy had compassion for all who came into her life, whether it was family, patients, strangers, or pets. Wendy worked as a home health care nurse over 15 years for companies such as Alpine, Alta Meadows, and Cozy. She was currently a hospice nurse for Bristol. With love and compassion she cared for hundreds of patients and their loved ones over her career. This was in spite of the many illnesses that afflicted her own body, including Type I Diabetes. She was often suffering more than the patients she cared for but never complained. Wendy was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved going on vacations with her family, especially trips to Disneyland. Countless people were recipients of her constant generosity. She is survived by her parents: Dan and Rosemary Armstrong; sister: Jennifer Hebertson; brothers: Bret (Marissa); Nathan (Audra); Dustin (Crystal); Casey, and Kip. She also had 5 nephews and 6 nieces that she adored and spoiled. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the Herriman South Stake Center, 14583 South Juniper Crest Road (4900 West). Viewings will be held Monday 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and again Tuesday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to funeral services. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the JDRF in Wendy s name at the Cyprus Credit Union branch. All donations go to fund diabetes research.
