Bob was born August 15, 1930 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, the fifth child and third son of Harold W. and Lucy Pearl Olsen Oliverson. His family moved to Preston, Idaho when he was six months old, where he grew up on the family farm learning hard work, honesty and the importance of family. He joined the US Army in 1948, serving in the Korean conflict. Following his military service, Bob attended vocational training and became a welder and layout man, working for Western Steel. He later taught welding at Utah Technical College and was named a Distinguished Alumni. He married Esther Larsen on August 9,1958; they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 11, 1959. Esther's two children, Dad's three girls and later another son formed a blended, wonderful and happy family. Bob was an active member of the LDS church serving in bishoprics, as a Bishop, High Counselor, a counselor in the Stake Presidency and an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple for 18 years. He loved the Lord and served with diligence and all his heart. He loved the outdoors, fishing, boating, camping, especially going to Flaming Gorge with his family and the youth in his ward. We have enjoyed some wonderful trips with him in recent years making awesome memories. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Esther; daughter Pamela; son-in-law Terry Sugden; four grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters. There is a joyful reunion with loved ones and friends today. He is survived by his children: Brenda (Fred) Yost, Idaho Falls, ID, Cory Haight, Salt Lake City, UT, Diane Sugden, Lake Point, UT, Gayle (Ron) Eavensen, West Jordan, UT, Randy (Judy) Oliverson, Cub River, ID, Scott McLachlen, Tooele, UT; brother Gordon (Katheryne) Oliverson; and a sister Elaine (Orval C.)
