Lois Carma Austin

May 11, 1945 — November 9, 2018

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our beloved Lois, but we rejoice that she is no longer in pain from her recent bypass surgery or its complications. She is at peace and with the Lord. Born May 11, 1945 to Lee Jesse and Carma Saxton Jacobsen in Ogden, Utah. Raised in Salt Lake City. Graduated from West High. Her red hair bespoke her memorable and sometimes feisty determination. She was an honest, opinionated, energetic, compassionate, generous and courageous woman of indomitable will. She was a smart, loving woman who was passionate about her family. She will be remembered for her love of horses and her pets. Her life has been spent in achieving her goals. After graduating, she married Fred DeVaul and brought two sons to the family, Allan and Dale. Later married George Eldridge; along came Tonya to join the boys. She then married Stanley Austin which brought stepson Roland and his family to our circle. Currently happily married to Doug Williamson. She worked for the Salt Lake Police Department as a dispatcher, but quit to open her own business in Bountiful: A & L Copy/Print. Later she got her Hazmat degree and worked for Bard Medical for several years before retiring. She is welcomed home by her parents; her son Allan Wayne DeVaul; and her daughter Tonya Starks. She is survived by her husband Doug; her son Dale; her brother Glenn (Jackie) and Lynn and their families; her daughter-in-law Jackie DeVaul; her stepson Roland Austin (Dawn) and his family; grandkids: Bruce, Brett & Joshua DeVaul, Zac Campa, Shelby Starks, McKenzie Ramirez, Christopher Austin, Amber Coleman, Lizzie Austin, Jada Austin and Dallas Austin; plus great-grandbabies and step-children and their families. If you must bury something, let it be my faults, my weaknesses, and my prejudices against my fellow man. Give my sins to the devil, give my soul to God. If by chance you must remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs it. If you do all I have asked, I will live forever. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 16, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where a viewing will precede the service from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South.
