Jose Maria Jimenez

June 16, 1931 — August 12, 2018

Jose was born June 16, 1931, in Bingham, Utah to Juan & Jaunita Macis Jimenez. He had four sisters and one brother. He married Esperancaza Ortega Castillo on September 13, 1952 in Nevada. They were married a second time in a church in Wrigley California, at the insistence of his mom on September 23, 1952. They were blessed with 12 kids, 9 boys and 3 girls: August, Andrew, Tommy, Joe, Mario, Adam, Chris, Richard, Donnie, Dina, Linda and Jennifer, as well as 118 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved the outdoors; camping, hunting, fishing. He loved board games, crossword puzzles and liked to color. He loved his goldfish and he really loved to watch wrestling. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad from 1950-1990. "My father Joe had a very huge impact on my life. I was a lazy teenager. At age 16, my father made me get a job for the Rail Road. He made me work very hard and taught me responsibility. One time my father sent me home because I was 10 minutes late to work. My father was very strict. Some of my favorite memories are when Joe and his friend forgot to tie the motor to the boat and it was spinning in the water. He used to get mad when I talked about my brother Chris that was his baby. He used to chase my son Jason because Jason would tell him to go home. My father's son & friend, cousin, brother and friend Richard Costello, who passed away in 2014, would go on long walks and jogging with my father. Richard would invite my father down to his house; they were very close. My father was loved by many people and will be clearly missed." Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018, 1:30 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where a viewing will be held prior to services from 10:00 a.m. -12:45 p.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
