Helen Rae Seymour Piep

Helen Rae Seymour Piep of Heber City, Utah died on July 25, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah from complications from a head injury sustained in a fall several days earlier. Helen was born in Brighton, Colorado on March 30, 1945 to Raymond Z.T. Seymour and Helen LeNoir Coffey. She graduated from Merritt Hutton High School near Brighton in 1963. She married Robert Woodbury Piep in 1966. Robert (Bob) worked for AT&T. They began their marriage in Pueblo, CO. After a stop in Denver, Co., in 1974, opportunity took them to the San Francisco Bay Area, where a son, Robert Raymond Piep 1977, and a daughter, Rhonda Jean Piep Greenhalgh 1979, were born. Helen worked various jobs at each stop, mostly just to stay busy. She was a crossing guard, delivered papers, and cooked and managed at bowling centers. When Bob retired from AT&T in 1989, they made their home in Heber City. Helen then cooked at Holiday Lanes. Helen then began helping their daughter establish an animal rescue, Second Chance for Homeless Pets. She worked with the animals until her death. She was 73. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, July 31st, 10:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT.
