Clifford James Dean

Loving father and husband, Clifford James Dean Jr., passed away in his home of lymphoma on June 27, 2018, surrounded by his family. Clifford was born and raised in Ithaca, NY. Clifford lived in many different parts of the United States in his life including Arizona and Alaska He married his wife, Betty Louise Dean, in the Seattle Temple in December 1983. He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after 20 years of service. Clifford served the United States by working as a hospital corpsman and a rescue swimmer for search and rescue. Clifford then retired after 20 years of service and spent 10 years working for the Department of Veterans Affairs assisting veterans with their benefits and running voluntary service. Clifford found pure joy in helping and serving his country and those that have also served the United States. Clifford is survived by his wife, Betty Louise Dean; his daughters, Katie Elizabeth Dean and Bailey McKenna Dean; his son Aaron James Dean; and his sister, Cindy Dean-Your. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at the LDS church located at 2930 South 2000 East, Salt Lake City, Utah 84109, where a visitation will be held prior to the services from 10-10:45 a.m. Clifford's final resting place will be the Utah Veteran's Cemetery in Bluffdale, Utah.
