Wilma Jane Shaw Jones

Wednesday, October 21, 2020, Wilma Jane Shaw Jones passed away from heart failure in the home of her daughter, Joyce Pedersen.

A dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Wilma was born to Robert William Shaw and Louise Pearl Keyes Shaw on March 13, 1931. She was delivered at home in Osgood, Idaho. Wilma was the youngest of six children, three boys and three girls, of whom all preceded her in death.

At the age of 16 (1947), she met her future husband – Franklin Wyatt Jones. May 8, 1949, Wilma graduated from Rupert High School. On June 21, 1950, she was married in the Salt Lake Temple to Franklin Wyatt Jones. Together they had five children: Carolyn Jane, Joyce Ann, Gary Scott, Beverly Louise, and Franklin Blair.

Wilma was a professional seamstress and served faithfully in her many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was Relief Society President, Young Women’s President, in the Stake Young Women’s Presidency, did countless hours of genealogy and kept her temple recommend current. She loved her family and spent many hours making sure they each had a handmade gift from her every Christmas.

She was preceded in death by her children Franklin Blair (1996) and Beverly Louise (1998); and her spouse Franklin Wyatt (2004).

Wilma is survived by her children Carolyn Jane (B. Thomas Clark), Joyce Ann Pedersen and Gary Scott (Carolyn) Jones. Wilma leaves behind a legacy of 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2020, 12:00 p.m., with a viewing prior from 10:30-11:45 a.m., at the Fox Pointe Church Building, 1465 West Bristol Ridge Road, West Jordan, Utah. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery, 7800 South 1300 West, West Jordan, Utah. Arrangements under the care of McDougal Funeral Home.
