Wayne Thomas Lee

Wayne Thomas Lee 1948 ~ 2011 Wayne Thomas Lee, 62, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born June 9, 1948 in Salt Lake City to Leo Lamond and Grace T. Lee. He graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in accounting and worked for First Security Bank and This is the Place Heritage Park. He served an LDS mission in Mexico and had a great love for the Mexican people. Wayne married Marguerite Bawden on June 18, 1971 in the Salt Lake Temple for all eternity. They raised six children together. His goal in life was to support his family any way he could. Wayne loved being a grandpa. Spending time with his grandchildren brought great joy to his life. Wayne served in many callings in the LDS church; his favorite were working with the young men and scouting. One of his greatest joys was to see his sons serve honorable LDS missions and receive their Eagle Scout awards, as well as his daughter receiving her young womanhood award. He also received the Silver Beaver Award for his lifelong commitment to scouting. Wayne also served in the Jordan River Temple until he became ill. He is survived by his sweetheart Marguerite, children David (Kayleen), Benjamin (Debbie), Rachel, Michael (Liz), and Andrew and 7 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his son Tom, parents, sister Katherine and brother David. His family would like to extend their gratitude to the support staff at Danville and CNS hospice care for the loving service they gave to him. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2011 11:00 a.m. at the Jordan North 4th Ward, 4270 So. 4145 W. (Falcon St.). Viewings will be held 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and again Wednesday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to funeral services. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
