Timothy E. Magorien, age 66, of Salt Lake City and formerly of Arlington, TX, passed away on Monday, November 03, 2025, in Taylorsville, UT.
Timothy was born on October 15th, 1959, in Barnsville, Ohio, to the late Helen and Raymond Magorien.
Timothy was a 1977 graduate of Woodsfield High, where he was a standout halfback on the football team. His athletic achievements were a point of pride throughout his life, and he was recently inducted into the school's Hall of Fame.
He received his bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University in 1981. He owned and managed multiple businesses throughout his life, but his career truly took flight when he joined Avis/Budget in Dallas, TX. He was a City Manager for over 24 years, directing operations in several cities near the tri-state corner of Utah.
Timothy loved college football and was a devoted Buckeye fan and alumnus. He often wore scarlet and gray to show his enthusiasm for the university and was legendary among friends and family. He was very active throughout his life. From his early years as a halfback in high school football, skiing, tennis & ping pong with his siblings, to swimming recreationally at his local gym pool.
He was the fifth of seven children and valued his large family deeply. Tim was a devoted father to his son, Timothy, and took great care to ensure that his son maintained strong ties to his extended family. He made family a priority, traveling regularly with Timothy to reunions, weddings, and gatherings, creating lasting memories and bonds that will be cherished.
Tim was always willing to lend a helping hand even when it wasn't asked. He was a motivated individual who led others to success. His competitive nature at a young age built the foundation of his strong work ethic that he kept throughout the remainder of his life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Timothy is survived by his son, Timothy Blake Magorien (Paige), of Fort Wayne, IN. Five brothers, Raymond (Susie), Columbus, OH; Kevin (Winston), Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; David (Gloria), Sacramento, CA; Robert (Amy), Ten Mile, TN; Douglas (Louis), Columbus, OH; and one sister, Andrea Woodby (Herb), Byesville, OH. He is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews, as well as seven great-nieces and nephews.
