Listen to Obituary

Tilden Walker Jordan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend, passed away at home after a valiant four-year battle with cancer.

Walker was born on May 18, 1975, in Mesa, Arizona, to Cheryl “Sherry” Jordan and David “Mike” Jordan. A proud Arizona native, he built his life around the things he loved most: his family, his work, and the outdoors.

His greatest pride was his family. He wanted to witness and participate in all their activities and could often be found on the sidelines at Tooele High School events or at the Tooele County Fair, simply to be there with his kids. He loved to travel and spared no expense when taking his family on vacation, enjoying the finer things in life, especially when making memories together. Over the years, they reminisced often about those special trips and the fun they shared. He was a prankster and often came up with challenges for the kids that resulted in monetary gain in exchange for their embarrassment.

Walker was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping, hobbies he began early in life with his dad. In recent years, he harvested a trophy elk in Idaho and a black bear in Canada. He loved fishing for catfish in the pond across from his house.

Walker took great pride in his career with Transco Conveyor Services. He was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and the respect he earned from colleagues and friends throughout his career. He made lifelong friendships through his work, and many became his hunting and fishing buddies, along with his son, Tye.

A lifelong and devoted fan of Arizona State University football, Walker first attended games with his grandparents and later continued the tradition with Karen and the kids. One of his favorite memories was celebrating Arizona State’s win in the Big 12 Conference. Go Devils!

Walker’s greatest joy came from his family: his wife, Karen; his son, Tye; his daughter, Erika; and his bonus daughters, Whitney and Gracie. At the beginning of his cancer journey, his granddaughter Ava was born. She brought him countless smiles and laughter during a difficult time.

He will be missed beyond measure, and his family looks forward to the day they are reunited with him again. Services will be Saturday, March 28, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Gathering Hall, 4306 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
