Thomas Wheeler Williams

May 8, 1942 — June 2, 2020

Thomas Wheeler Williams passed away June 2, 2020 at his home in West Valley City. He was born May 8, 1942 in Vallejo, California, the oldest child of Thomas Williams and Florene Wheeler Williams. He graduated from Napa High School, completed an electronics apprenticeship at Mare Island, and served a mission in England for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1964, he married Ninette Tate (later divorced). Their children are: Michael ( Joni), David, Joseph, Sarah, Elizabeth ( Jose), Sam, Mary(Myles), and Jared. Tom served in the US. Army for several years during the Vietnam era and was always proud of his service.


On February 14, 1994, he married Patricia Darlene Schultz in the Salt Lake Temple. Their children are Sylvia Bernert(Jason),John Schultz, Sonam Schultz(Chrisy), Laura Sharkey, Samuel Schultz, and Joshua Schultz.


Tom was a man of many talents and abilities. He always liked to say that one of his greatest strengths was his ability to solve problems. He loved to work with computers and built and serviced many of them over the years. He was interested in learning new things, and loved to share what he had leamed with others. He attended Utah State University, The University of Utah and Salt Lake Community College.


Tom was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved the gospel of Jesus Christ. From 2011-2013, he and his wife served as Senior Missionaries in the Washington Tacoma Mission. At the time of his passing he was serving with his wife as an MLS senior missionary in the Utah Salt Lake City West Mission. He loved to study the Book of Mormon and was eager to share the truths found there with his family. His family was most important to him and he spoke about how grateful he was for each of them.


Tom was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by all of his children and his siblings:
James(Veda), Kathleen Neff (John),Alan (Clarinne), and Karen Mineer (Don). He is also survived by many grandchildren.


Funeral Services will be held June 8th at 11:00 AM. There will be a private viewing for family starting at 10:00 A,M. Burial will be in the Veterans' Cemetery 17111 South Camp Williams Road Bluffdale, Utah. Due to Covid-19, attendance at the funeral is limited and services may be viewed digitally over the funeral home website.
