Thelma Viola Wade Christensen Peterson

Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Thelma Christensen Peterson, 89, of South Jordan, passed away peacefully and joined her eternal companion July 31, 2016. She was born March 4, 1927, the first child of Morris Franklin and Estella Wade. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings throughout her life, including an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple. Mom loved every moment spent with her sweetheart, Ken, and most of all, at their mountain cabin. She enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers and loved spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by her children, Sharon (Alan) Jensen, Susan (Ron) Millett, David (Kathy) Christensen, and Tammy (Heber) Anderson; step-children, Steve (Juanita) Peterson, and David (Becky) Peterson; and many loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. Christensen; second husband, Dee A. Peterson; and grandson, Landon Christensen. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2016, River Ridge LDS 8th Ward, 1409 West Shields Lane (9800 South), in South Jordan. Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, both at the church.
