Susanne Morley

Susanne Church Morley, of West Valley City, Utah, aged 86, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026 in Saratoga Springs, Utah

She was born on February 23, 1940. She is the daughter of Zera Pulsipher Church and Susan Baldwin Hutchings of Three Mile Creek, Spry, Utah - near Panguitch, Garfield County, UT.

She was born at the home of her father's Sister, Aunt Edna Heywood, located in Panguitch, UT.

Susanne was the youngest of eleven children, Mathel, Don Zera, Abe H., Agnes, Ray L., Earl W., Garth (twin), Garneta (twin), Doyle, Norma and Susanne. Three of her Brothers died of pneumonia before she was born, Don, Ray, and Earl.

She very much loved her family growing up and had countless adventures with them.

The Family moved to Pleasant Grove, Utah in 1945.

Susanne loved to tell stories when along with her niece Kay O'Driscoll, nephews Perry and Dale Ray and their younger sisters Roseann and Judy. She gained a reputation as the "story teller."

Susanne met John Morrille Morley on May 30, 1957 on a blind date. They were married on December 12, 1958. She and John bought a home in Hunter, Utah on the west side of the Salt Lake Valley, (today known as West Valley City).

John and Susanne have 2 Children, John Scott Morley, February 23, 1962 and Ladd Doyle Morley, June 25, 1965. Together they had many adventures on family trips and outings.

Over the years Mom has been an avid writer. She belonged to the League of Utah Writers and the Utah State Poetry Society. She has won various awards for her writing.

Susanne is survived by her Sons and their families: John "Scott" (Elisa) and Children, John "Taylor", Victoria "Tori" and Cole Morley. Ladd Doyle (Marelyne) and grandchild Tim Dickson.

A short viewing for Susanne will be held on Friday, August 7 from 11:00-11:45 AM at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 PM.

Internment at Murray City Cemetery, 5490 S Vine Street, Murray, Utah

A luncheon will be held at 2:30 PM at the LDS Meeting House located at 5180 W 4700 S in West Valley City, Utah
