Steven Martin Rogers, age 72, passed away at home on January 2, 2026, in Kearns, Utah.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, Steven's life was marked by kindness, humility, and optimism. Born on January 4, 1953, in Anchorage, Alaska to Bert Franklin Rogers and Carol Snyder Rogers, Steve took his first steps surrounded by the natural beauty of the north before his family settled in Holladay, Utah.

As the eldest of four children, he provided a valuable source of support and encouragement for his younger siblings. He graduated from Skyline High School in Holladay and later served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Vancouver British Columbia Mission from 1972 to 1974.

After returning from his mission, Steve began working at The Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City. It was there that he met Betty Ann Howard, who would become the love of his life. They were married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 13, 1975. Their marriage of 50 years stood as a testament to enduring love.

Steve's professional life included positions at The Zion's Cooperative Mercantile Institution (ZCMI) Warehouse and later as a self-employed cleaning service contractor. He was known for his reliability and integrity - qualities that earned him the respect of employers and clients.

As a youth, Steve enjoyed skiing with friends on Utah's snow covered slopes and driving around in his "cool" 1974 Ford Pinto. He found purpose and accomplishment through participation in the Sea Scouts BSA Program. He also had an affection for animals - especially his dogs and a lively green-and-yellow parakeet that added excitement to his childhood.

Later in life, he discovered a love for reading that enriched his quiet moments and an interest in politics that provided topics for interesting discussions. Family was always at the heart of Steve's world. He was concerned for his family and wanted to be a caring husband, a good father and a kind grandpa. He took pride in providing a home for his loved ones. His wife Betty, their son Jared, and grandchildren Caizza and Czendale brought him happiness.

Fishing trips shared with his grandfather, father, brothers, or son, brought cherished opportunities to build lasting memories. Family vacations and celebrations were among Steve's favorite times - occasions filled with laughter, storytelling, and warmth.

Steven is survived by his wife Betty Rogers; son Jared Rogers; grandchildren Caizza and Czendale; mother Carol Rogers; siblings; Jeril Smart (Rob), Trent Rogers (Rachelle), Reggie Rogers (Patrice); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Bert Rogers. A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Steve found peace through scripture study and strength through his relationship with the Savior - especially during the last difficult year as he faced significant health challenges. Steven will be remembered for the love, kindness and acceptance he offered so freely, the laughter he shared generously, and the quiet strength and humility with which he faced life's trials. He will be deeply missed and leaves behind a legacy of faith, family devotion, and hope in the future. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.

A private family memorial will take place in the future.
