Shirlynn Wilson Campbell

Shirlynn Wilson Campbell, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 18, 2018. She was born September 11, 1939 in Hurricane, UT to Howard and Ardelle Wilson. Her younger years were spent in Pioche, NV and then moved to American Fork, UT her senior year of high school. She married the love of her life, Gary L. Campbell, on November 10, 1961 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings, her favorite being a Blazer B Scout leader. She graduated from nursing school at Holy Cross Hospital prior to marriage and served as a nurse for 40 years with the majority of that time spent at Pioneer Valley Hospital where she loved helping and caring for mothers bringing new life into the world. She loved planning family vacations, camping with her family and collecting dolls. Her greatest joys were serving her family as a wife, mother and grandmother. She deeply loved each family member equally and unconditionally and loved spending time with them. She is survived by her devoted husband, Gary; three children, Gary (Sheila), Greg (Pam), Cheryl (Paul) Barbre; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one granddaughter, Samantha. The family would like to thank the staff and Hospice nurses at Rocky Mountain Care/Hunter Hollow for their love and care of our mother for over 4 years. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 23, 2018, 12:00 noon, at the Hunter Stake Center, 3737 S. 5600 W. Viewings will be held Thursday, February 22nd, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and at the church Friday prior to services from 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
