Shirley May Johnson Strong

Shirley May Johnson Strong passed away peacefully at the Our House Assisted Living Facility in Tooele, Utah on September 14, 2021 at the age of 87.

She was born October 11, 1933, in Newton, Utah to Sherman and Viola Johnson.  She married her high school sweetheart Ronald D. Strong on November 14, 1952. 

She worked for Mountain Bell for over 35 years.  She enjoyed taking road trips with Ron on their Harley Davidson Motorcycle and going camping.  She also loved working in her yard. 

She is survived by her daughter Debra S. Turpin (LaVon)l; sister Berdeen; brother Johnny Johnson (Linda), 5 grandchildren Lisa Farrant, Shawn Nay, Jason Nay, Trudy Rowley and David Turpin.  She has 11 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald D. Strong, her daughter Marlene Valenciana, her parents Sherman and Viola Johnson, 2 brothers Bob and Lonnie Johnson.   

Graveside services will be held Friday, September 17, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Park. A viewing will be held prior to services, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
