Shelley Gail Layne

Shelley Best Layne, 68, passed away on February 24, 2026, in Taylorsville, Utah. She was born on April 9, 1957, in Portland, Oregon, and was raised in Yakima, Madras, and Bend before later moving her family to Ogden, Utah.

Shelley was known for her spunky personality and strong will. She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent many years working at Little Caesars, where she took pride in her work and in providing for herself and her family, and later on enjoyed her time working at Lowe's.

A Christian by faith, she carried her beliefs with her throughout her life.

Shelley's life, like many, was marked by both love and challenges. Her journey included difficult seasons as well as meaningful connections that shaped the family she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lezlie. Shelley is survived by her husband Don; son, Brian (Lori); her granddaughters, Jenna, Macee, and Eden; her great-grandson, Miller; her granddaughter, Kaylynn (daughter of Lezlie); her father, Lloyd Best; her sisters, Tiffany and Tammy; and her brother-in-law, Chuck.

Shelley's story is one of strength, perseverance, and complexity. She will be remembered in the hearts of those who knew her, each holding their own memories of her life.

Her services will be held at Bible Baptist Church located at 4750 South 4800 West, Kearns, Utah on March 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM with a luncheon afterwards.
