Saundra Fidel

Saundra Jean Fidel passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, in West Valley City, Utah, at the age of 77.

She was born on May 15, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Eddis May Fidel and Chad Joseph Fidel.

She grew up in Nebraska, New Mexico, and finally made Utah her home.

She attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where she received her bachelor's in music then continued to get her master's in library science at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. She had a love of teaching and after 30 years she retired from Granite School District.

She welcomed two amazing children to her home, Sara Samantha born July 28, 1982, and Joshua Chad born October 21, 1984. She loved being a mom and having adventures with her children.

She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various positions including primary president, girls camp advisor, and relief society counselor. She had a great love of music and one of her favorite positions was being a music director for the many musicals the stake put on for many years.

She was promoted to Grandma in 2001 and then again in 2003, 2005, and welcomed 2 more in 2017. She adored her 5 grandchildren and enjoyed taking them many places.

Saundra is survived by her daughter Sara Taylor, (son-in-law Daryn Taylor), son Joshua Fidel; her grandchildren Lance Joseph/Sonya Alizabeth (22), Elanor Mae (19), Alaina Jean (18), Brennan Todd (15), and Shaelynn Maci (11); brothers Jay Fidel and Steve Fidel (spouse Melia Fidel); and many nieces and nephews.

Saundra is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents Chad Joseph Fidel & Eddis May Fidel, and sister-in-law Sandy Fidel.
