Sara Jane Pitts Story

Jane died on August 8, 2017 at the age of 92. She was born to Inez Elkin & Charles Pitts on December 17, 1924. She was an only child and had a happy childhood and had a grandmother she loved dearly. She grew up on Milton Avenue with many friends and lots of fun and good times. She graduated from South High School. In 1948 she married Eldon Story in Elko, Nevada; their life together was 57 years. They were blessed with two children, Debra & Jon. She worked as a secretary, homemaker, and other occupations that were interesting and fun. She was a painter and enjoyed painting in all mediums. During her life, she volunteered at various organizations in the community. The best times were family dinners, camping and fishing, trailering to Island Park and Yellowstone Park, snowmobiling at the cabin with grandkids and dogs, and trips to Wendover. She made many friends during her life, most of them are gone but she went to lunch and the Opera with a couple of them. She is survived by her son Jon; grandchildren, Jeff (Michelle), Shaun (Alicia), Shannan, Andy (JoAnna); and 7 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Eldon; daughter Debra; and daughter-in-law Lynn. At her request, she will be cremated. A memorial service will be held, Monday, August 14, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Humane Society.
