Listen to Obituary

Sandra Lee Hartman was born on Sunday, August 15, 1948, in Toledo, Lincoln County, Oregon to James Douglas Hartman and Ruth Elma Linch Hartman. She passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026, at her home in Brigham City, Box Elder County, Utah after a long battle with renal failure.

She was the second of four children, Beverly (William Brewster), Sandra (Lynn Anderson), Janice (Vernon Bishop), and Michael Hartman (Shannon). She grew up in the coastal towns of Oregon until at 18 she started to spread her adventurous wings and moved to California.

She worked at Wilson's Bakery for many years. She also met and married her husband Lynn Stanley Anderson where they moved to San Jose and had their first 2 children Gwyn (Laurence Silver), and Kristine (Kenneth Davis).

With a job transfer and a desire to be near family they moved to Utah where they had 3 more children. Cheri (Michael Gibbs), Stanley Anderson, Russell Anderson (Wendolyn).

Sandy became a homemaker as she had kids, but was always active in the communities she lived in. So whether it was a room parent, or PTA committee member, or running a pre-school class, she liked to be involved.

Sandra loved to travel, camp, see family, and create flower beds.

When she lived in New York, she ran the "Mr. Yuk" program for the schools.

In North Carolina she was a brownie leader and helped with 4-H and found her passion for family history.

After her divorce she moved back to California for a time and worked for McClellan Air Force Base.

As an empty nester she had missed her beloved Oregon, so she moved back for a while and then to Idaho, but eventually found her heart was with family so she spent her final 30 years back in Utah to be near her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father James, her younger brother Michael, her granddaughter Ivy Lynn Anderson, and great-granddaughter Lola Joy Adams.

There will be a viewing on Sunday, June 7, 2026, 6 PM at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.

A graveside will be held, June 8, 2026, at 1 PM at the Brigham City Cemetery, 300 East 300 South (plot E2-227-8 -- near the office/cremation garden).
