With our deepest sorrow we announce that Rudy Richard Velasquez passed away November 1, 2025, leaving behind his legacy of being known as a hero to his children and grandchildren.

He served his country in the United States Army.

He took on many roles beyond being the best Father anyone can ask for. He was everyone's 'Grandpa' foremost, he took on the mother role for his first born, and became a go-to person for many. He took a big role of raising 2 grandchildren for several years and we're forever grateful for his passion and commitment of being a true Father -- 'OUR HERO'.

Rudy was a skillful man. If he didn't know how to do something he would learn it, then master it, so he could pass it on. School wasn't his favorite, but he sure was a knowledgeable man. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting (when he could), shooting, anything outdoors. He loved woodworking/carvings, cooking, drawing, had the best handwriting for a man as I recall many saying, and mechanical work when needed. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family -- especially, game day -- he was a Denver Broncos Fan all the way, never switched up teams, it was always Denver Broncos. Wins or losses, he still represented his Denver Broncos. He was so thankful my sister, Drea, gave him the opportunity to watch a game in the stadium.

Rudy was a family man and always made sure his family's needs came first, no matter what. Rudy was one of a kind, down to earth -loved having a good time. If you knew him, you know! He related well with everyone which brought him to be the likable, caring, and lovable guy.

He would give his last dollar, or shirt off his back, literally, to help others, especially those in need. If you were hungry, he'd cook up a quick meal. His house was always known to the neighborhood as Uncle Rudy's, or 'Grandpa's' where kids could be kids. If they needed their bike fixed, he was the guy. He made sure all kids were safe in the neighborhood. He was the protector of the hood.

He will always be remembered for his sense of humor- he loved to joke around -- anything to keep a smile on your face and his. He loved his music. Every vehicle he had had to bump even if it was a hoopty, and he enjoyed all genres except country. He enjoyed watching his westerns, especially his ultimate idol, 'John Wayne, The Duke'. Everything and anything he did in life, he gave his best and lived life to the fullest.

He loved his family dearly, and like any other grandparent he especially loved his grandchildren. Family gatherings were where you would see how proud he was, the brightness it brought to his eyes, and the smile on his handsome face (even if he didn't have his teeth in).

The last few years before he got sick, he really enjoyed his job at SAC Incorporated, where he got the opportunity to work with his children and a few grandchildren, Angelita (Eric), and Antonio Jr. He loved talking to others about his family.

His memory and legacy of being a hero in his children's and grandchilden's hearts will forever be, as well as in all the other hearts he touched throughout his life.

He will be missed daily and loved always but never forgotten by his children, grandchildren, lifelong partner, and family.
