Listen to Obituary

Ruby Colleen Firkins Sprague, age 81, passed away on October 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, service, and devotion to her family.
Colleen married the love of her life, Raymond John Sprague, on August 10, 1962. Together they built a family that remained the center of her world. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family meant more to her than anything.
Colleen was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she cherished the blessings of family and the love of those around her.
She had a special place in her heart for animals and loved them dearly. Her caring nature extended beyond her own family and into her community. Colleen worked at Neighborhood House Daycare for over 20 years, where she dedicated herself to caring for and nurturing children. She was especially proud of her volunteer service during the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, an experience she treasured and remembered with pride.
Above all, Colleen loved her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy and the most precious part of her life. She will be remembered for the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Colleen is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond John Sprague; her parents, Ardella Hayes and Lorenzo Firkins; her son, Kevin Sprague, who passed away in infancy; her daughter, Dorinda Hoggan; son-in-law Keith Graham (Lisa), son-in-law Troy Hoggan; her sisters, Dolores and Jenelle; and her brother, Lynn.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Sprague; son-in-law Tod Hoggan (Dorinda), her grandchildren, Lacey Dileo (Bryce), Travis Sprague, and Derrick Sprague; and her great-grandchildren, Peyton Dileo, Nessa Dileo, and Lexi Dileo, who will carry her love and memory forward.
Though her family will miss her more than words can express, the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will live on through the generations.
Her family was her greatest blessing, and her love will remain their greatest gift.
Rest peacefully, Colleen. You will be forever loved and deeply missed. Services will be on November 18, 2026, at 1:00 pm, at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South Redwood Road, Bluffdale, Utah, followed by a luncheon at the LDS Church Building at 800 North 1200 West, Salt Lake City, Utah.
