Ronnie Eugene Gainsforth

September 13, 1977 — February 24, 2022

Ronnie Gainsforth lost his 10-year battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer on February 24, 2022 at the age of 44. For all of you who were lucky enough to know him, you know he did not go down without a brave and courageous fight.

Ronnie was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 13, 1977, to Randy Gainsforth and Janice Reid. In 1996, he married his high school sweetheart, Toni Rinaldi and they shared 25 wonderful years together. They had an amazing son, Derek, whom he dearly loved.

Following in his family's footsteps, Ronnie worked in the concrete cutting industry for over 18 years. Always a hard worker, he thoroughly enjoyed that line of work, the projects he was able to be a part of, places he was able to go, and most importantly his coworkers.

After his first battle with brain cancer followed by a heart-attack Ronnie went to work for Edwards Life Sciences. He liked the work he did there and his saying every morning getting ready for work was, “It’s a great day to save lives”. A special thanks to this wonderful company and his work family for all their love and support during Ronnie’s illness and his final fight.

Ronnie will be greatly missed by his entire family and his many friends. He enjoyed life to the fullest, was easy going, loving, and the kindest man you could have the honor of knowing. He could light up a room with his contagious smile, enjoyed music of all genres and got a kick out of playing “Name That Tune” and “Music Trivia” with anyone. He was big fan of the Utah Jazz (watching games with his fur baby Jazzmynn), and the New York Yankees. He enjoyed a round of golf and time spent at the family cabin at Bear Lake, but most of all he cherished the time spent with his wife, son, family, and friends.

He is survived by his wife Toni; son Derek; father Randy (Meridee) Gainsforth; mother Janice (Bert) Reid; mother-in-law Mary Rinaldi; sister Jennifer (Scott) Raiford; brothers Michael Lydia) Reid, Sean (Callie) Reid; sister-in-law Stephanie Rinaldi;  many loving aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
