Ronald Lee Grimes, 78, of West Jordan, Utah, passed away on September 14, 2026. He was born on October 18, 1947, in Aberdeen, Washington to Bonita "Bonnie" and Harley Grimes.

Ron will be remembered for his loving generosity and his ability to make new friends in any situation. His work ethic was renowned, a trait he passed on to his children through example and dedication. He loved children and always made it his mission to bring smiles to his grandchildren later in life, as well as to the many little children he met throughout his life. He had a great love of the outdoors and was an avid camper and fisherman. He loved taking his horse out to break trail or simply going for a ride with friends and family.

His fondest hobby and one of his greatest joys-as everyone who knew him will attest-was spending time at the lanes. He wasn't born with a bowling ball in hand, but it was close. There weren't many bowling alleys in the Salt Lake area that he didn't frequent from time to time. Throughout his life, he took every chance to bowl with family, whether casually or in a league.

Ron is survived by his sister, Marilyn Atkinson; his children and stepchildren, Jeffrey Grimes, Christy Jespersen, Stanley Grimes, Shän Grimes, Scott Casper, and Steven Casper; their spouses; and his many grandchildren.

In accordance with Ron's wishes, no funeral services will be held. A small gathering of close friends and family will meet to celebrate his life.
