Ricky Emery

April 9, 1953 — September 29, 2025

Ricky D. Emery

Our loving dad, husband, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Monday, September 29th ,2025, after suffering from the effects of a stroke for 11 months.

Dad was born to Gary H. and Joyce McLelland Emery on April 9th ,1953. He was the third of seven children. He very much loved his parents and siblings and loved spending time with them as an adult.

Dad developed his testimony of our Savior in his seminary class at Skyline High School, which led to him serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While serving in North Carolina he met Allison Brown. They were married in 1975 (later divorced), blessing Dad with five children.

Dad married the love of his life, Judy Parker, on June 30th, 1995 and added one more son in 1996 making our family complete! They were sealed in the Bountiful Temple in 1997.

In 2009 Dad lost the love of his life to cancer. He was so dedicated to her and served her so lovingly throughout her battle.

Dad married his sweetie, Althea Brown, the second love of his life in the Salt Lake Temple on May 15th, 2010. Althea had five children and several grandchildren of her own making Dad a stepfather and step grandfather. Titles that he enjoyed very much.

Dad worked in manufacturing his whole career starting at the bottom and working his way to the top. Quality Assurance was Dad's second language and he was good at it! Throughout his career Dad made many friends, whom he still connected with often even after retiring early.

After retirement Dad and Althea enjoyed spending time in the temple together, and serving as service missionaries downtown at the Church Office Building.

Dad was happiest spending time with his family (especially his grandkids and great grandkids who lit up his world), eating good food, watching the Utah Jazz and Gunsmoke, teasing us and being sarcastic.

Dad is survived by his loving wife Althea; His six greatest blessings: Heather (Anthony) Sykes, Sarah (Nicki) Wilcox, Melissa Nelson, Matthew (Kelli) Emery, Amanda (Jason) Bemis, Austin (Brittany) Emery;

His stepchildren Angel, Arthur (Anna), Joy (Nathan), Rosie (Anne), Amber (Adam) 25 grandchildren with one on the way, and 2 great grandchildren;

all of his brothers and sisters, 15 nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends.

Dad was preceded in death and joyfully welcomed in Heaven by his loving wife Judy, His parents, Son-in-law Greg Nelson, and his niece Misty.

While we are devastated at this time, we are so grateful that Dad is out of pain, and that families are forever.
