Richard Gene McBride, Big Brother, Dad and Papa, passed away Tuesday October 26, 2021 after a long battle with MS.
He served his country and was severely wounded in battle after which he received the “Purple Heart” for his selflessness. Dad soldiered through life Honoring his country, the “Corps” and those who were lost.
Dad was a stubborn man, making conversations and resolution difficult at times but he would never sweat the little things and would take time to give you his two cents and then give you the space to make your own decisions. He was a man of few words most times but loved to smile and enjoy a good laugh whenever possible!
A man with the patience of a saint, which I am sure that the grandkids would vouch for, but at times, a tone in his voice would let you know when he meant business! He had a big heart which shined its brightest that Christmas he helped a homeless family get back on their feet.
He had a passion for sports, whether the Jazz or the Dolphins, he could not get enough! At times his escalated yelling at the refs and the opposing teams’ players would be heard throughout the neighborhood! He loved his model trains and as of late developed a new passion for coin collecting.
You will be missed greatly by us, your family, and all who knew you!
