Richard Kumen Jones, 60, passed away on January 2, 2026, in Taylorsville, Utah.

Richard was born on November 27, 1965, in Farmington, New Mexico to Robert and Kay Jones. He grew up in Blanding, Utah and later moved to Salt Lake City to advance his career as a plumber and support his growing family.

Richard was a quiet and reserved man who valued simplicity and privacy. Though he wasn't one for many words, those closest to him knew how deeply he cared. He showed up when it mattered most, offering a steady presence during important moments, memories his family will hold close.

Richard lived life on his own terms and will be remembered for his calm demeanor, quiet strength, and devotion to family. He loved hiking, camping, fishing, barbecuing, playing darts, and card games, all in the company of friends and loved ones.

His appreciation for music, humor, and deep thinking lives on in the minds and hearts of his children.

A hardworking man, Richard became a master plumber and took great pride in his profession.

He is survived by his sons Matthew Ron (spouse Roxanne; children Katelyn, Jaris, Chansy, and JosieMae), Nathan Robert (spouse Lauren), and Richard Scott (spouse Miranda; children Juniper, Ozzy, and Nizhoni), and his daughters Baylee (spouse Joseph; children Jacob, Brody, and Joella) and Mallory (children Melody, Calroy, Maclan, and Camden), his former wife (mother of his children) Janet, his siblings Heather, Alma, Leah, Aaron, Gary, Ellen, and Lynette.

He is preceded by his mother Kay, his father Robert, his sisters LydiaMae, and Robin.

Richard's life was a testament to quiet strength and love for family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Memorials will be held in February 2026 in Salt Lake City, Utah and in July 2026 in Blanding, Utah.
