Renee Jordan

July 22, 1947 — October 28, 2023

Reneé was born July 22, 1947 in Price, UT to Bruce Jensen and Maxine Lemon. She was the second child of four and the only daughter. Her family lived next door to her grandparents and Reneé loved spending time with them.

While in grade school, her family moved to Hanna, UT, a town with a population of about a hundred (including some cows and chickens). She went to school in nearby Tabiona.

As a teenager, her family moved to the "big city" of Duchesne, UT. In high school, Reneé was on the drill team and loved being involved in school activities and 4H. When she was 16 years old, her friend Sheila Jordan introduced Reneé to her brother, Barry, who had just returned from his mission. They dated for about a year before breaking up.

After Reneé's graduation from high school, she started dating Barry again. They both attended Brigham Young University the next year. She and Barry were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 23, 1966.

They lived in Logan, Utah while Barry earned a master's degree. They had their first child during that time. They moved to California after Barry graduated and they lived there the next 38 + years. They had six more children in California.

Reneé was a dedicated wife and mother and a wonderful friend. She served as a Den mother in Cub Scouts and a leader for Girl Scouts. She was actively involved as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in Relief Society, Sunday School, Primary, and Young Women's. She was a faithful visiting teacher and ministering sister throughout her life. She supported Barry in his various church callings including as Bishop.

After all her children were in school, Reneé started working outside the home. She worked for the County of Riverside as an ET (eligibility technician). She retired from the County of Riverside after twenty years.

She and Barry moved to Utah in 2006. They enjoyed spending time with each other and their children and grandchildren.

She was afflicted with multiple system atrophy the last few years and succumbed to that disease on October 28, 2023. She was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Barry Jordan, her parents, her sons, Jeffrey Jordan and Kevin Jordan and her brother, Lynn Jensen. She is survived by her children Greg (Maria) Jordan, Teri (Jeff) Brown, Michele Jordan, Kristie (Steve) Diaz, and Karen (Jerron) Green, her brothers Ray (Gloria) Jensen, and George (Marie) Jensen, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family expresses gratitude to the many people that cared for Reneé at Holy Cross Jordan Valley Hospital, Western Peaks Specialty Hospital, and Meadow Peak Rehabilitation as well as the people from Rocky Mountain Hospice.
