Ralph Eugene Smith, age 86, of West Valley City, Utah, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025.

He was born on March 4, 1939, in Murray, Utah, to Don Stallings Smith and Wanda Marie (Boulter). Smith.

Ralph faithfully served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Southern California. He worked for over 30 years at Monroe Elementary in the Granite School District. 

A devoted member of his faith, he served in many church callings, including bishop and Scoutmaster. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed painting ceramics, camping, and doing family history work 

.Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, sister Peggy (Buckner) and granddaughter Sabrina Smith. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Shirley Anne (Gledhill) Smith; his children: David (Santina) Smith, Kevin (Migdalia) Smith, Mark (Kim) Smith, Susan (Luckie) Bogenschutz, Tanya Smith, and Karen (Matt) Denning; his brother, Bruce Smith; 18 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Jordan North 5th Ward, 4100 S. 3836 W., West Valley City. A viewing will take place on Wednesday, August 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and again on Thursday, August 7, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Interment:  Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West6 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
