Rae Jean Yergensen Manousakis

October 30, 1938 — June 8, 2011

Rae Jean Yergensen Manousakis 1938 ~ 2011 Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend returned to her heavenly home on June 8, 2011. Her delightful spirit blessed all those who have been in her presence. She will be greatly missed, as everyone who knew her, loved her dearly. Born on October 30, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah and later moved to Monroe, Utah. Monroe was close to her heart and the childhood friendships she made lasted a lifetime. Her close-knit group of girlfriends enjoyed all their fun adventures. She married Emanuel George Mike Manousakis in 1961 and she loved her large Greek family. Later divorced, but not before welcoming a son, Michael, her pride and joy. Rae Jean worked for First Security Bank/ Wells Fargo for many years where she made many lifelong friends. Rae Jean battled Multiple Sclerosis for 50 years and was determined to never let it beat her. She was an incredible example of strength and perseverance. She enjoyed participating in the annual MS walk, and was also a member of the Wasatch Gem Society and The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. In 2000 she received her endowments in the Manti Temple and had a close relationship with her Heavenly Father. In recent months she required extensive care and she and her family appreciate all her care-givers and new friends, especially those at Draper Rehab. We also appreciate the efforts of the caring team at Intermountain Medical Center. Survived by son, Michael Manousakis; daughter-in-law: Katie; two grandsons: Christian and Adam of West Jordan.
