Paula Jean (Sheppard) Jones

October 16,1947 -April 18, 2026

Paula Jean (Sheppard) Jones passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She lived a full and loving life. She taught us the importance of fairness, hard work, love, honesty, creativity, and family-values that will continue through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Paula retired from the Salt Lake City Airport after 35 years of service. It was there that she met the love of her life Paul Jones. They were married on June 19, 1998, and would have celebrated 28 years of marriage this year. She and her husband enjoyed classic car shows, her favorite was the '57 Chevy Bet Air.

She is survived by her children: Denise Johnson (Richard Johnson), Steven Sheppard, and Kristy Wood (Ben Wood). She was a proud grandmother to 8 grandchildren, 13 greatgrandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Many people came to know Paula simply as "Grandma." Her door was always open, and there was always a place to stay and a meal to share. Because of her love and generosity, she gave far more than she ever took.

A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she enjoyed visiting Utah temples, participating in baptisms for the dead, and spending time with her Relief Society sisters.

Mom loved dogs-her own and anyone else's. If you brought a dog to visit, it made her day and brought out her biggest smile, especially when she snuck them treats (whether they deserved it or not). We'll keep bringing our dogs to visit her, remembering how her smile lit up the room.

Paula had a creative spirit in her younger years. She enjoyed painting ceramics, tending her flower gardens, and baking her Christmas sugar cookies every year. She also loved long drives through the canyons, getting her nails done, and her earrings-she had over 800 pairs and never missed a day without them. We alt looked forward to her holiday earrings. She also enjoyed word search puzzles, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and Elvis.

The family would like to thank the staff of Highland Care Center for the care and respect they showed our mom. We truly appreciate all your hard work, friendship, and the love you extended to her.

Paula will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life information may be added later.
