Paul Ramon Corley was born on April 3, 1946, in Dallas, Texas. He returned home to his Heavenly Father on September 21, 2025.
As a teenager, Paul moved to California, which became a significant aspect of his identity. There, he had friends who introduced him to opera, which became a lifelong passion. These friends also encouraged his devotion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When he chose to serve a mission for the Church, he requested and was granted the opportunity to serve in Italy. This marked the beginning of a lifetime of service in the Lord's kingdom.
On May 4, 1974, he married his sweetheart, Ruth Ashby, in the Los Angeles temple. By the late 1970s, their family had moved and started putting down roots in Utah, eventually moving to their home in Kearns, Utah.
Paul loved serving in the temple, which led to him meeting Ruth, as well as making many friends over the years. He regularly talked about spending time in the temple with those he served with, often calling them his "Thursday Night Drinking Buddies."
When he retired, it was after several years of employment in the Family History Department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Most days, Paul would complete the newspaper crossword puzzle.
If you were ever in the Corley home at 6 pm, it was likely that you would find Paul watching and playing along to Jeopardy! He enjoyed watching Star Trek and hated missing a BYU football game.
Paul is survived by his wife: Ruth, sons: Aaron (Marjanne) and Nathan (Marcee),grandchildren: Priya, Christopher, Viola, Adam, Paige, and sister: Diane (Grant).
He was preceded in death by his daughter: Rebecca, son-in-law: Troy, and brother: Gary.
