Patrick Kenneth Mellott "Pat" was born to Kenneth and Rose on June 16, 1941, in Hugo, Colorado. Pat loved growing up on his family's cattle ranch and being able to have his own children take part in cattle round ups, brandings, and eating the best homemade chocolate cream pie and homemade noodles made by his mom "Grandma Rose."
Pat met his wife Shirley at a dance in Utah and they combined their families. Pat worked in operations for several prominent companies including Del Monte and Bush Brothers. After 27 years at Bush Brothers, Pat traveled to Iraq as a consultant to help reopen a canning factory that had fallen into disrepair. After living in several different states and Puerto Rico, Pat and Shirley settled in Richfield, Utah where he loved working on his 5 acres.
Pat is survived by his sweetheart Shirley, his children Michele, Suzie, Lesley, Stacy (Mike), Julie, Todd (Chelle), Wendy (Kem), 17 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren along with his sisters Mary Ellen and Penny. He's proceeded in death by his daughter Angie, grandson Kenneth, sons-in-law Dale and Mike, and brother Mike.
There will be a private family viewing on Friday, May 8, 2026, followed by a graveside service at Taylorsville City Cemetery, 4567 South Redwood Road, beginning at 4:00 PM.
