Patricia Ann Connelley Wilson ("Pat")
June 19, 1936 - May 3, 2026
Patricia Ann Connelley Wilson, affectionately known as "Pat," beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed sweetly and peacefully with her loving family by her side on May 3, 2026, in South Jordan, Utah. She was 89 years old, just shy of her 90th birthday. Pat was born on June 19, 1936, in Declo, Idaho, to Sabina Grace Lund and Eugene Earl Connelley. She was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, as the sixth of eleven children.
From a young age, Pat exhibited exceptional integrity and a gentle strength. With a profound sense of right and wrong, along, and a desire for a better life, she found her way to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On May 23, 1952, at the age of 15, she took a walk by herself to the Salt Lake City Tabernacle Baptistry where she was baptized. This was an incredibly brave decision, and changed the course of her life. Throughout her many trials, her faith in her Heavenly Father and Savior remained steadfast, serving as a guiding light of hope and giving her the strength to endure until the end of her earthly journey.
On August 17, 1953, at the age of 17, Pat was sealed to Ezra Taylor Wilson in the Salt Lake City Temple. Their marriage of 63 years rooted deeply in their family. Together they raised 6 children, whom she loved immensely. Pat was a devoted mother and would endure anything for her children. She loved serving in the Scouting program with her sons and served as a Relief Society President. Life took her to various places, many of which she called home for a time. These include Salt Lake City, Utah, Roy, Utah, Salem, Oregon, Lemon Valley, Nevada, Holiday, Utah, and Murray, Utah, where she resided for over 40 years. Her Home.
Pat was a hard worker, holding positions at Pykettes Clothing Manufacturing, the University of Utah Hospital, Pioneer Valley Hospital, and Monte Vista Manufactured Home Community, where her legacy still lives on today.
She found great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who adored their Grandma and "Grammy Great." She loved visits from her family and always had a jar full of cookies and a bowl of candy ready for visits, by family and friends. Pat loved traveling across the country with Ezra, especially to Nova Scotia and anywhere with lighthouses, and cherished her time serving in Samoa where she grew to love the people deeply. She enjoyed gardening, quilting with her daughter and granddaughters, and savoring life's simple moments. She cherished her close friendship with her daughter, Shellie, a bond of love and companionship that lasted a lifetime. Pat remained a devoted wife until Ezra's passing in 2016.
Our Mom and Grandmother lived her life with a quiet compassion that made others feel seen, heard, and deeply cared for, even in the simplest moments. Through every season, her strength and endurance carried her forward - steady and unwavering -leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her love was a constant presence; gentle, resilient, and enduring, and it will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Thank you, Mom, for being our guiding light. We will continue to celebrate your life and love for forever. Her strength and example will remain with us always.
May she now find the peace and joy she so deeply deserves.
Patricia is survived by her five sons: Gary Taylor Wilson (Michele), Michael Jay Wilson (Hollie), Kevin Ricks Wilson (Patty), Scott Ezra Wilson (partner, Carey, ex-wife Marianne), Taylor Patrick Wilson (Amy); and her daughter, Shellie Wilson McHaley (Larry). Of her 10 siblings, she is survived by her baby sister, Kay Jensen (Jerry). She also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved her immensely and will carry her legacy forward in their hearts.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Ezra Wilson; Grandson, Joel Ricks Wilson "Joey"; Her parents, Eugine Earl Connelley and Sabina Grace Lund Connelley; 9 of her siblings, Mary, Gene, Devona, Leland, Herb, George, Tommy and Danny; and many loved ones and friends.
