Patricia Noffsinger

March 17, 1931 — December 11, 2023

Patricia Helen Young Noffsinger, loving wife, mother, and grandmother returned home to her Father in Heaven Monday, December 11, 2023, after struggling for months with insurmountable health challenges.

Patricia was born March 17, 1931, in Binghamton, Pima, Arizona to Helen McRae and Everett Alma Young. She was the third of eight children with older siblings Gwendolyn and Ralph, and younger siblings Silvia, Robert, Tommy, Winslow, and Richard.

Mother was an excellent student and an avid reader. She graduated from Central High, Kirtland, New Mexico in 1948 just barely 17 years old and going on to graduate in 1952 from New Mexico Western College with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. In 1972, she graduated from the University of Utah with a Master's of Education in Special Education.

Patricia taught in various educational settings and eventually retired from Salt Lake Community College after 17 years as an Associate Professor of Developmental Studies.

Patricia was a master teacher and taught not only her children but countless others to seek learning, even by study and also by faith.

Mother was so tenacious for teaching that in 2019, she facilitated BYU Pathways for students in Africa.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband Charles Barentine, her children Pamela (Daniel) Walker, Denise (Manuel) Cerdhe, David (Angie) McDonald, Annette(Jeff) Asbell, Cheryl (John) Avery, Nancy (Ron) Halti, Kenneth (Lisa) Noffsinger, Danette (John) Whitten, Kristine Beckstead, Jan (Brent) Hugh, Doralee (Wayne) Johnson, Sandra (Scott) Woodruff, Leann Noffsinger, Ben (Emily) Noffsinger, Kenneth (Annie) Barentine, and David Barentine.

Burial services will be Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 11 AM at Redwood Memorial Estates.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 5000 W. Pavant Ave, West Valley City, Utah. Family and Friend Reception at 10 AM. Memorial Services will begin at 11 AM.
