Patricia Jayne Davies Lawrence, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, into the inviting arms of loved ones waiting on the other side of the veil. She was 78 years old.
Born in Salt Lake City on October 22, 1946, Patricia was the daughter of Irvin Davies and Grace Spongberg. She grew up in the Sugar House area, sharing her childhood with her older brother, Dennis Davies. Patricia attended Highland High School, where she was a vibrant member of the Pep Squad and cultivated several cherished friendships that endured throughout her life. One of Patricia's close friends, Janet, introduced her to her brother, Stan, who she would later fall in love with and marry.
After graduating from Highland High, Patricia attended BYU for a year before being sealed for time and all eternity to Stan on October 3, 1966, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising six children: William, Linda (Alan Hall), Victoria (Erik Varney), James (Melanie), Robert (Rebecca), and David (Brienna). Patricia and Stan were blessed to watch their family grow and expand over many years, including sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Patricia was a devoted and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in various callings, including Relief Society President, Primary, Relief Society, and Sunday School teacher, and as a Temple Worker. Her remarkable musical talents were a blessing to her ward for many years, as she shared her gifts as the ward organist and pianist.
A gifted musician from a young age, Patricia began piano lessons early in life. Her dedication and natural talent led her to become an assistant to her piano teacher, and she continued to teach piano lessons herself. Her small business flourished, and she skillfully nurtured the talents of many students, guiding them to competitions and numerous recitals. She also took great pleasure in teaching many of her grandchildren, helping them to develop their own love for music.
After retiring from teaching piano, Patricia embraced new hobbies, including participating in book clubs, enjoying water aerobics, and traveling between her home in Murray and St. George. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren, enthusiastically attending their many games, recitals, and school programs.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Stan; her six children; her sixteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love, faith, and music will forever be cherished by her family and all who knew her.
